About This Padlock:
A laminated steel padlock contains individually compressed steel plates. This creates a padlock which is very strong and resistant to attacks where the softer brass body may lack.
An additional benefit comes in the fact that each plate individually galvanised making this padlock especially weatherproof including all of its internal components.
In the past many laminated padlocks from various manufactures have been poorly constructed with rivets that hold the pates together. This ABUS model compresses the rivets within the body allowing the padlock to retain its security even when the rivets are damaged from the outside.
This padlock is suitable for everyday outdoor use but in extreme and salt water environments we would recommend the weatherproof range.
